Due to the success of Galileo, their top-of-the-range medical ventilator, Hamilton Medical decided to develop a new mid range family of ICU ventilators.
Hamilton Medical HAMILTON-Raphael is designed to respond to the needs of ICU care givers in developing markets as well as cost sensitive healthcare institutions. The project team conducted hospital visits in Asia, Europe, North Africa and the USA to develop a deep understanding of stakeholder needs.
Working with key insights derived from field research, which included feed back from professionals which had used the GUI of Galileo, the project team proposed an instrument design and simplified user interface based on a single push & turn knob and monochromatic screen to contain component costs.
